Richard Winder was my Grandad. I only knew him from my birth in 1991. He was the best Grandad for all my life. We lived in the flat above his in the family house. I always remember him shouting for me from the bottom of the stairs. I would throw myself down into his arms and he would always catch me.....it was our game. I have so many memories of him and his two old English sheepdogs, Bonnie and Wobbly. My lovely Grandad did not feel too well on the 6th December 2005 and his son Derek took him to the doctors surgery. They were looking at a magazine together when he quietly passed away.
We came to see you on Christmas Eve as always grandad. We left you flowers and talked to you and nanna Suzi. We missed you and talked about you on Xmas day. Missing you.x
So much has happened in the years since you were with us. It seems so long since we have seen you. Sat in your chair, welcoming all your visitors, wanting to know what was going on in everyones lives. We know the last few months were a struggle for you, so our wish for you today, 6 years since you left us is that you are running free with Bonnie & Wobbly and looking down and smiling.

Carey & I were talking about you today Grandad.
All the fun times we had and yet another Xmas coimg up. Another one without you.
We were remembering all the fun times we had as a family at Xmas.
You and Derek would come for Xmas dinner and I do beleive I remember you once said you had a better dinner than mine somewhere else.
I will let you off that comment as I know you never had a better Xmas than with Mark, Carey and I.We always knew how to do Christmas. we had some wonderful times as although Mark & I didn't always get on we always "did Xmas" very well. We will miss you this year and as always & Carey & I will open a bottle of Champagne and toast you on Xmas mornig.
We have not been on for a while Grandad, Life has been hectic. We still talk about you and have been looking at old Christmas pictures recently. remembering happy family times. Carey is doing great, she has two jobs now and is a wonderful daughter as I always knew she would be. We have some great times together and laugh a lot! We came to visit you for fathers day and laid some flowers. Once again they were the only ones......
I am so glad you never saw your disfunctional family as it would have broken your heart!
